Langus River Park, near Everett, Washington is the starting point for a pleasant path that goes for almost 3 miles along the Snohomish River. The paved path provides a good look into the life of the river as it winds past an industrial area into a native estuary. The river serves as a source of commerce, a recreation area for boaters and fisherman, and a sanctuary for birds and other wildlife. The paved path ends after about 2 miles and a crushed rock path leads across a bridge to the Spencer Island Bird refuge. It can be rough in places, which can affect accessibility for wheelchairs. There are some nice spots for viewing birds along the trail. There are nice views of the Cascades and it's interesting to watch the effects of the tides. It's possible make a loop trip back to the park by going west from the bridge to. 4th street. There are picnic tables and an accessible restroom at the beginning of the trail.
Directions: From the south: Head northbound on SR 529, turn right on 28th Ave. N.E. and head south to Smith Island Road and follow it ti the park entrance.
From the north: head southbound on SR 529, exit onto 34th Ave. N.E. and continue south to Smith Island Road and follow to park entrance.
